[MUSIC PLAYING] - If somebody were to ask me, why should I reinvent myself, I would say, why not? Because we need to dream a little bigger. People reinvent themselves at any age. They start families, they find their loved ones, they start new careers, and that could be-- you could be three, or you could be a hundred. So as long as you're stepping into your power, there's no age limit on that. And I think one of the crucial ways to do that is to hold the mirror up to our lives and ask ourselves, by what definition am I living? By who's nouns and whose adjectives am I operating? Sometimes the reflection makes you happy, and sometimes the reflection is a little bit jarring, but that is a very pivotal foundational step to that reinvention process. [MUSIC PLAYING] I'm going to show you all this exercise of talking to yourself in the third person and recapping a very short story that-- either audibly or in a journal-- that allows you to reflect on your own potential and your own past strength. Robin ran five marathons in five days across the state of Utah to raise money for MS research. So right there-- that journey was infused with purpose, but it was also infused with a hell of a lot of a physical and mental pain. Robin had never run that distance before and had to constantly revisit that purpose on the journey. On day five, the fifth marathon, it was pure narrative, pure internal mantra, pure looking at the sky and just saying, if there is sky above me, then there is Earth below me, and feet will move. And that became the mission, and she got there. The literal process of telling yourself your own life story, like somebody would be telling you the script in a movie, is incredibly important. And sometimes, actually saying it in the third person-- it's going to feel really odd. Or writing it in the third person-- it might feel really strange. But then you realize, damn, I've been through a lot, and I had moments of pure grit, and I'm still here. [MUSIC PLAYING] Reinvention requires a spiritual audit, a financial audit, and a physical audit. And I developed that when I was transitioning from law to wellness because I had to take on a stock of my finances, I had to take on a stock of my health, and I had to take on a stock of my spirituality and my energetic exchange with the world. And if one isn't a spiritual person, OK, maybe you park that one. But financial and physical are not negotiable because financial, especially if you're talking about a job change, you might have a period of time where you're not making as much, when you're not making anything, where you're-- you might be out of work right now looking for a new career. And living leanly, living below your means, I think, was critical for me to have the courage to move from law into wellness because I knew in the two years preceding to my actual departure that I was saving as much as I could. And I was being really frugal with birthday gif...
