Bring it around. Go swerve. [00:00:47.76] For me, when I work on anything, I make sure I walk into the room with a confidence and a swag about me. [00:00:55.35] And 1. [00:00:56.39] If you can give people a feeling just off your presence, I think that sets you up to all those doors opening. [00:01:02.96] [ELECTRONIC MUSIC] [00:01:18.38] I haven't always been confident. Growing up, I always felt like an outcast. I felt really different. But the beautiful thing is is that I found a home within dance and within creativity. That's where I could express myself. I found almost an alter ego when I danced, and it allowed me to be confident. [00:01:44.48] When you can look in the mirror and say, you're awesome, you rock, I love what you do, and I what you're about, you know, that carries with you all throughout your work. And when you can express that confidence as a leader-- [00:01:57.29] Let's go! [00:01:58.01] --and a choreographer, or a director, or a dancer, you know, it's contagious. [00:02:03.80] So I'm Samoan and proud Polynesian woman. And Polynesians, we're all about service, We're all about, you know, being kind to one another, family first. And those are really great values that have helped me in dance and in the world of dance. At the end of the day, I am just a Kiwi girl. And I feel like I carry that with me wherever I go. [00:02:24.08] [ELECTRONIC MUSIC] [00:02:29.28] I think in order to find your magic-- [00:02:32.04] (RAPPING) Move my body. [00:02:33.21] --it's important to understand who you are and what you're about. [00:02:37.70] (RAPPING) --and forth. [00:02:39.20] [ELECTRONIC MUSIC] [00:02:43.19] (RAPPING) Move my body back and forth. [00:02:49.18] [MELLOW MUSIC] [00:02:57.66] You know, when you create, it's a personal, intimate experience because you're taking everything within you, your soul, your spirit, your personality, and you're putting it out, and you're sharing it with the world. So any time you do that, I feel like you just want to have, you know, your intention there and your integrity there and make sure that it just feels good. [00:03:23.00] I think what makes a great choreographer or a teacher is someone that can express what's in their head. You know, because you show them the movement. But you know, give all those little details you can. This song means this to me. This movement means this to me. [00:03:37.80] The opening, looking up, looking up. As soon as we're heading this and this, just straight, and go all the way to the end. [00:03:44.06] But make sure it's unique to you, and it doesn't look like anyone else's work. [00:03:48.44] [RHYTHMIC PULSE] [00:03:49.42] Let's go! [00:03:54.82] (RAPPING) Cash. Cash. Cash. Cash. Hey. Cash. Cash. ...
