[MUSIC PLAYING] - I said earlier-- and it's worth repeating-- I don't want you to tap on the screen and say, I don't like the direction of my life that I've been living for 35 years. I want to change it. I'm going to click on Geno at MasterClass, and he's going to change my life. I don't want you to think that. But I do want you to think that, you know, I have it pretty good. I'm pretty good at what I do. But I want to get better. And maybe there's a couple things I can find out that I didn't know that might help me be better. That's the number one thing that I want to get across to everyone. All I can give you is these little tools that you can use-- a little screwdriver here, a little wrench here-- to fine-tune who you are. I can't bring in a crane, change your whole world. I'm sorry. I can't do that. [MUSIC PLAYING] I would say the number one thing that I wish I knew when I first started this was, I cannot-- contrary to what I think, I cannot control every situation that I'm in. I cannot control what's going to happen next. I cannot orchestrate the outcome that I want. I can't make someone into whatever it is I want them to be. I used to think I could do that. And I found out, no, I can't. All I can do is give them the opportunity, give them the tools, give them the resources, be there when they need my help. And then it's out of my hands. I wish I knew that then. I would have saved myself a lot of aggravation, a lot of angst, a lot of self-doubt, because there's only so much that you can do. And you can't do it all. And you can't do it all for everybody. [MUSIC PLAYING] The question of, what advice would I give you, what parting words would I give you-- and I will go back to what my mother said. Work hard. Make a lot of friends. The hard work part is going to allow you to have a career that you want. The make a lot of friends is what's going to really enrich your life. The people that are the best teammates, growing up, tend to attract the most people as friends. Not acquaintances, friends. So if you're a great teammate-- and we've talked about how to be one-- you'll always have a lot of friends. You'll have a support system. You'll have people who care about you. Why? Because by being a great teammate, you've already shown them that you care about them. So a rich man is a man who has a lot of friends. Great teammates usually have a lot of friends. [MUSIC PLAYING] - What would you like to drink? INTERVIEWER: - What's your choice of bourbon? Is there anything that you would like to ask me-- that I would have wished you would've asked me? Are you at peace with the fact that every single part of your success has been accomplished on the shoulders of a bunch of kids? - No. No, because I don't feel good about the fact that I've benefited in so many ways more than they have. And I wish that I could have provided as many benefits for them as they've provided for me. Th...
