[00:01:35.47] [MUSIC PLAYING] [00:02:00.87] - I come from a family of animal trainers. My father, my uncle, my stepmother, my mother-- they were all wild animal trainers in the circus. That was my heritage. That was my lineage. I grew up around all kinds of animals. By the time I was four years old, I was starting to raise tigers for my father's act. By the time I was 19, I started working for my uncle here in Los Angeles. [00:02:26.14] We trained everything-- tigers, bears, elephants, wolves, reptiles, primates-- you name it. We specialized in commercials and music videos. And the movie we did that everyone knows and always loves is "The Hangover." That was our tiger, Katie. I not only raised Katie from the time she was six months old, but I also trained her. She was one of the greatest cats we ever had. [00:02:54.92] Over the years, I slowly but surely was starting to get away from training wild animals and training more dogs, specifically shelter dogs. I started reading the statistics on how many dogs were euthanized because they couldn't find homes. At the time, the number was around $2 million dogs a year. Even though that number has been cut in half now, that's still an epidemic no matter which way you look at it. [00:03:17.09] That really set me off on a new path, a new journey in life.
