[00:00:00.00] [MUSIC PLAYING] [00:00:15.47] - It feels like there's a thought virus that's happening to the whole world, where everybody thinks that civility is meant for other people, but not me. I think it started 20 years ago when people got cell phones. And you would be on the airplane. And you would hear someone saying-- [00:00:33.03] [PHONE RINGS] [00:00:33.43] (LOUDLY) --uh-huh, yes. I'm on the plane. [00:00:37.76] Now, they're talking in full voice, not realizing that it's a condensed mic. So you can actually talk like this. And then people can really hear you. But you don't have to visit your conversation on our communal space. But these days, everybody is using up the communal space, the civil space, as their own. [00:01:00.38] Coexisting with other people is also being respectful of their experience on this planet. You don't have to be responsible for their experience, but you have to be respectful of their experience in a shared area of space. In the mornings, I go on a hike here in Hollywood at the Aretha Franklin Canyon. And this is 6 o'clock in the morning, 6:30. No one's up there. [00:01:31.65] But when you do pass someone, you-- we all say, hi, good morning. You know, you acknowledge them. But it's always very strange. You're in the middle of nowhere. And someone passes you, and you say, hello, and they ignore you. It's really strange. The simplest act of human kindness is to acknowledge one another. Because it's acknowledging yourself. And you cannot begin to love yourself until you acknowledge yourself. [00:02:05.21] [MUSIC PLAYING] [00:02:11.38] [00:02:12.48] - Do they see him on the street, Ru Paul? [00:02:15.08] - No. [00:02:20.06] - You're a disgrace to the human race, you know that? [00:02:23.05] - Yo, yo, yo. They're taking pictures. [00:02:26.03] - Yeah. Are you going to put-- are you going to put us on this film? In a show? [00:02:31.56] MAN 1: He's going to put us in a show. [00:02:33.00] MAN 2: No, he wants a show where he kisses that faggot over there. [00:02:36.36] - I wish I could tell you there is a one, two, three step to getting rid of a bully. But the truth is, in my experience, I've ran away from them. Because it's an evil force that is insatiable. And you can't reason with an ego. [00:02:57.15] The ego's goal in life is to separate and say, I'm over here, and you're over there, and I'm superior-- even if it knows it's not true. So when you're dealing with the ego, there's really nothing you can do. Because it's insatiable. Because nothing will ever quench that hunger the ego has. [00:03:28.32] Because the truth is, we're not separate. You're not over there and-- and I'm over here. We are one thing. So when you have bullying, it has to do with people who have this bottomless pit of a need to feel alive. The ego suspects that it doesn't really exist. So it constantly needs to be reminded, you know. And the only time they feel visible is when they're creating pain or getting a reactio...
