[MUSIC PLAYING] - When I look into the future, I try to look as far ahead as I possibly can with some degree of clarity. Obviously, the farther out you look, the less clarity there is. And at some point, you've got to know when to stop. In other words, what are the limits of future thinking and, in effect, what are the limits in terms of loss of clarity? I actually believe that one of the things a leader has to do in terms of managing people who are required to think about the future is try to set some kind of parameters-- meaning we're looking into the future, but we're only looking five years, or we're looking into the future, but let's have a 10-year horizon. If you just say to people, "We need to look into the future," obviously they would ask-- they should ask the question, well, what does that mean? How far do we go? And if you're a leader and you simply say, "Well, I don't know, just look ahead," that's meaningless and, I think, confusing and difficult for people to accept. But in leading people to think about the long term, it's very, very important to define what the long term means. [MUSIC PLAYING] My greatest hope for the next generation of business leaders is that they bring to the job great integrity and they achieve things that ultimately create a better world, creating more opportunity for people and a future that looks brighter than the present. - To infinity and beyond!
