[MUSIC PLAYING] - Is regulation really doing its job right now? Actually, I hate to be-- being positive is not sort of my thing, normally. But actually, for the most part, yes-- with crypto being actually one of the-- the big holes, what we learned in 2008 was the bank doesn't have to be a big marble building with a row of tellers. There are lots of institutions that basically function like banks, many of which were pretty much unregulated before that crisis. At this point, it's doing a pretty good job. I think I have put in a lot more work on trying to understand crypto than I think the underlying logic deserves, simply because it's become such a big business-- and it still just doesn't get there. I'd say it's much more apropos to ask, do crypto promoters understand money? Have they studied the generations of monetary history and-- and their lessons? - Everyone can have their own views. Everyone-- everyone can have their own choices. My view, though, is there's a much broader aspect to the blockchain ecosystem. I think Bitcoin proved, number one, you know, this technology works, and it actually-- and it's also grown. There are many other very fascinating use cases of blockchain technology that we have not seen or even heard-- heard of, or even thought about today. The market today is made up of early adopters. So I just really tried to soak up and absorb everything I could from the luminaries in the space. This is actually why I agreed to teach the MasterClass, because I wanted to impart some of that wisdom to the world that I've gotten from these incredible people. - There's a famous book called "The Innovator's Dilemma" by Clay Christensen, where he talks about-- he introduces this concept "disruptive technologies." That's where that phrase comes from. Disruptive technology is something like the internet-- which when it came along, for those old enough to remember, it was like it took forever to load a web page. And it was hard to get online, and it was broken in many different ways. And very little money was made from these websites. It wasn't an obvious business model. And it turned out you needed a whole new set of business models. You needed software as a service, and internet advertising, and all these other things had to get layered on. And so the internet was disruptive in that sense. Today, an important question to ask when you think about VR, AI and crypto i...
