What Is a Raspberry Mojito?
A Raspberry Mojito is a raspberry-flavored variation on a Mojito, the classic Cuban rum cocktail. A traditional Mojito cocktail contains rum, lime juice, mint, and soda water to make it fizzy. A Raspberry Mojito also includes muddled raspberries, making it a light summer drink. You can add simple syrup to the cocktail mixture for additional sweetness.
5 Tips for Making a Raspberry Mojito
To make your Raspberry Mojito even more delicious, follow one of these steps below:
- 1. Use light rum. Traditional Mojito recipes call for light rum or dark rum. For Raspberry Mojitos, it is best to use light rum, which won’t overpower the light flavor of the raspberries.
- 2. Select fresh ingredients. Fresh ingredients give a Mojito a bright taste. Use fresh lime juice by juicing lime wedges and fresh, in-season raspberries. You can substitute the raspberries with other seasonal berries, such as strawberries, blueberries or blackberries, or combine different berries to make a summery berry Mojito. You can also use frozen raspberries, just make sure to thaw the raspberries before muddling.
- 3. Garnish with a mint bouquet. Collect the mint tops and place them tightly in your palm to make a mint bouquet. Lightly brush them with your opposite hand until they are upright and uniform. For extra aromatic effect, slap the mint bouquet against the back end of your opposite hand.
- 4. Go for a mocktail. If you want to create a non-alcoholic Raspberry Mojito, just omit the rum and add more soda water.
- 5. Make a party punch. You can make a large batch of Raspberry Mojitos to serve as at a summer party or brunch. Scale up the recipe ingredients and combine the ingredients in a large pitcher. Add the club soda until just before serving.
