A person in a rut feels emotionally stagnant and lacks motivation for everyday tasks. If you are in a rut, the days may blur together, and you may feel like you are operating on autopilot. Being in a rut might feel similar to experiencing burnout and adversely affect your physical and mental well-being. Challenges in your personal or professional life might lead to this feeling of demotivation. Getting out of a rut takes time and self-care, but reigniting your sense of purpose is a rewarding process.
