How to Make an El Presidente: El Presidente Cocktail Recipe

The El Presidente is a slightly-sweet, red-colored rum drink that is served straight up. The El Presidente comes from Cuba and was popular in the 1920s with Havana’s upper class and Americans escaping Prohibition. Many original recipes call specifically for Vermouth de Chambery, a regional style of vermouth, while some simply use “French vermouth.” Dolin Blanc is a widely available expression of Vermouth de Chambery but any white, dry vermouth will work.
