In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a large mixing bowl using a hand-held electric mixer, beat cream cheese, butter, and vanilla extract together on medium speed until light and fluffy.
Sift together the powdered sugar and salt and add to the cream cheese mixture. Continue mixing until smooth.
Add milk and mix until smooth.
