Classic Corpse Reviver No. 2 Cocktail Recipe

Written by MasterClass

Last updated: Nov 3, 2024 • 1 min read

A follow-up to the classic cocktail the Corpse Reviver No. 1, which relies on Cognac, apple brandy, and sweet vermouth for its flavor, this second version is a gin cocktail that contains more aromatic and floral ingredients. Published in Harry Craddock’s The Savoy Cocktail Book (1930), this cocktail recipe, along with other versions of Corpse Reviver cocktails, is meant to be a ‘hair of the dog’ drink, making it a popular brunch choice. However, too many of these drinks taken in swift succession may have the opposite effect of a hangover cure.
